Visit Saquisili market and Cotopaxi
This morning we drive south to the small town of Saquisili, scene of Ecuador’s largest rural market which attracts hundreds of Indians coming from remote villages throughout the region. This afternoon we will then drive into Cotopaxi National Park where we can see one of the world’s highest active volcanoes – Cotopaxi 5897m. We plan to take a walk around Limpiopungo (1.5hrs), a glacial lake surrounded by flora and fauna of the paramo (high-altitude Andean grasslands). Then we head back to Machachi for the evening.
