Fun Cards for Kids

November 14, 2014 By sue 1 Comment

I often like to challenge myself to make as many different cards as I can with the same stamp – sometimes all on the same theme and other times just to see how different I can make them look.  I have five nephews so many of my kids cards are based around boy themes.  In this example I had a stamp of a stick figure boy in shorts and a t-shirt and decided to try to represent as many different boys’ pastimes as I could, using a mix of other stamps I had, stickers and images that I had cut out of magazines; colouring in the shorts and t-shirt in bright colours and using card trim to match.  It was fun and easy to do – hopefully you can use the same basic idea to make cards with or for the kids in your life.

In a later card I was giving a birthday present of a bug collecting set so made a matching birthday card with the same stick figure boy, this time with a magnifying glass and a hole in the card to reveal bugs underneath (I stamped all sorts of different bugs on the inside of the card).

I also made book marks for them all at Christmas in the same manner as the cards and using a laminator to finish and protect the bookmarks.

The cards are brilliant! It is amazing how different the stick figure boy looks with the different embellishments. The book marks are inspired!
