Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs

September 22, 2016 By sue 4 Comments

I am having so much fun with Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs and Crazy Cats stamp sets. Here are some examples of cards I’ve made …

Tim Holtz' Crazy Dogs

I think Tim Holtz can read my mind! First there was the Crazy Birds stamp set that I have adored. Then he brought out Crazy Cats which were just as much fun (see my earlier post). While I was colouring them using my Copic markers I was thinking that he really needed to bring out Crazy Dogs as well. Then just two weeks’ later I saw videos the pre-release of the Crazy Dogs stamp set on YouTube!!

Usually we have to wait several months before we get new releases in New Zealand, so I was over the moon when I saw that Memory Crafts had them in stock a week or so later (thanks Jonathan!). Of course I had to buy them.

My mind is buzzing with ideas for all the different things I could do with these crazy but adorable critters. But I thought I’d continue on with the theme I had started earlier using the Crazy Cats: keep the cards clean and simple, try to make the images pop by using Copic markers and to use different colour combinations for each Crazy Dog.

I have invested in some more Copic marker colours now, particularly in the earth tones, and these were absolutely perfect for the dogs. I finished the cards off with a bit of shadow under the images, a sentiment and then highlighted the eyes and the ‘accessories’ with Glossy Accents. Then I chose a matt card colour to emphasise each image and put them onto a plain white card. Below are my first cards along with the Copic colours I used for each of them.

Dog: E51, E53, E99; Accessories Y08, G14, C2, C3. C4

Dog: E33, E35, E37; Accessories: B18, C10, C4, C3

Dog: E42, E43, E44; Accessories: R29, C10, C8, C6
