Day 5: Toronto

7 October 2018

We have a leisurely bacon and eggs breakfast with Brian and Eke, interspersed with trying to photograph the squirrels and birds that were visiting their bird feeder. Then Marcia, Gill and I drive back to Toronto via the scenic route arriving back at Marcia’s place in time for lunch.

Later in the afternoon we go out to explore the neighbourhood on foot. Marcia lives in lovely quiet neighbourhood that is close to the river and to the main street (very conveniently located). Gill and I spend a lot of time photographing squirrels that are running around people’s yards starting to prepare their stash for winter. We are amused to see one squirrel that has been feasting on someone’s pumpkin display at their front porch.

It is Thanksgiving tomorrow and Marcia cooks a rolled stuffed turkey breast for us, complete with baked potatoes and lots of vegetables – and of course some wine. Her daughter and son-in-law-to-be are travelling so it is nice that we can share the weekend with her.
