Homemade Rose Chocolate Recipe

February 13, 2026 By sue Leave a Comment

With Valentines Day upon us, I thought it would be fun to make some delicious and healthy rose chocolate. What shows you care (for yourself or someone else) more than a treat that is good for the body and soul. Dark chocolate boosts your mood, rose and vanilla soothe and calm, while cinnamon and cayenne pepper support heart health.

Homemade Rose Chocolate

Making chocolate is a lot of hard work if you do it right from scratch (as I discovered on a trip to Mexico, Guatemala & Belize back in 2015). But you can make a delicious and healthy treat using good quality dark chocolate (chips or pieces). The addition of spices makes it even better.

2 cups dark chocolate chips or pieces
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp rose extract (or rose water)
dried rose petals

Melt the chocolate in a double-boiler, stirring constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

If you don’t have a double-boiler you can use a bowl or jug above a saucepan. Or you can microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each round until it is melted (be careful not to overcook it or the chocolate may go grainy).

Add the coconut oil, spices, rose and vanilla and stir well ensuring it is all mixed through and nice and smooth.

Pour or spoon the chocolate into moulds if you have them or line a baking tin with baking paper and spread the chocolate as thick or as thin as you’d like.

Sprinkle rose petals on top and allow to set at room temperature.

Remove from moulds and/or cut or break the chocolate into pieces.

Then gift and/or indulge.
