Yellow Cherry Guava Gin Recipe
Autumn is a bountiful time for harvesting fruit and guavas are a seasonal favourite. I have been growing red cherry guavas for years and have previously shared recipes for cherry guava jelly and cherry guava cordial that look fabulous made with red cherry guavas. Cherry Guava Cordial
Last year I made guava jelly with my harvest of cherry guavas. This year I thought I'd try something different: making Cherry Guava Cordial. You use the same basic preparation method as for making jelly but you don't boil it for as long. It doesn't matter how many guavas you start with because you simply adjust the amount of sugar you use to match the amount of juice you get from your guavas. Cherry Guava Jelly
We can't grow the wonderful tropical guava in New Zealand but Cherry Guavas grow well here. They come in both red and yellow varieties. I have planted a few of these, mostly for screening and to fill awkward spaces. The fruit can be a bit inconspicuous, tucked away in the foliage but they come in late autumn when there is not a lot else around.
